When I was 17, I was putting myself through High School by working at Safeway.
I had ordered a special Chevy Stepside, 350 4~barrel, Truck from the factory. I ended up getting robbed and lost the $1000 down payment. I had to hustle up to make it back, so many wanted to buy my truck when it came in. I prevailed, natch! Cherry ... toured all of Canada and the US Natl forests and rivers for many a fine summer. Oh, another good one:
I got my bodywork table, and an antique hammer collection, stolen out of my Suburban one night. We combed the neighbourhood and finally found my REALLY expensive table behind some bushes. Guess that I was very lucky that they couldn't figure out what it was. It was in pristine condition, no damage. Hope they built a nice getaway raft w/ the hammers, or knocked some sense into their noggin ...
