While browing around on the main site I got this from SAV:

First, i would run a full scan. I think though, whats happened here, is that you inadvertently clicked on an ad? These sites install tracking cookies. They are not a threat to your system. Symantec, is probably detecting those cookies. Advertisers install these cookies, in order to track which ads have been seen. From the report you listed, i see you are using internet explorer. To clear cache and cookies..select tools, select internet options, select clear cookies, clear browsing history, select ok. (this should be done periodically anyway)
One thing i will mention here, you will need to keep cookies enabled in order to log into the site. |

I'm not sure i follow, what is the nature of these file extensions? If you were able to view them, certainly windows or some other program opened them. That is actually a good indication..if these file extensions couldn't be accessed..then yeah i would say you had an issue on your hands. There are tons of programs that use file extensions. ( i see you are an IT tech)..you would be more efficient than i in running down this issue.
sorry i couldn't be of more help. Mark |
