Doing some net surfing I found a link to a book published in the 1970's I’m glad I’m a boy! I’m glad I’m a girl! by Whitney Darrow.

Sometimes I look around and think about the wonderful progress we have made as a society but other times I wonder how much things really have changed after all. Especially when I read these forums.

Incredible that it wasn't so long ago we taught kids stuff like this:

Boy's are pilots.
Girl's are stewardesses.

Boy's are Presidents.
Girl's are First Ladies.

Boy's are doctors.
Girl's are nurses.

Boy's are doctors.
Girl's are meter maids.

Boy's can eat.
Girl's can cook.

Boys build houses.
Girl's keep houses.

Boy's invent things.
Girl's use what boys invent.

Boy's fix things.
Girl's need things fixed.

We do love our stereotypes don't we.. grin!
