I just a new match and then I checked the profile of the user and it said they are deactvated. But they just matched with me. What's going on?

My first guess is that they're a bit flaky, but it's possible they accidentally clicked on the 'maybe' on mutual match without realizing that 'maybe' is pretty much the same as a 'yes' and they deactivated out of embarassment.... which, now that I type it, is still a bit flaky.

Some folks deactivate every time they leave the site to minimize unwanted contact, stalkers.
Some are just that way.

It could have been a computer generated match instead of by someone's personal choice. I had a "mutual match" from someone who hadn't been signed on to this site in over a year!

I recently got a blind email from someone. When I went to take a peek at who sent it - poof - he was gone - deactivated into cyberspace.

Tons of reasons to deactivate and whatever theirs is - it doesn't have to make sense to anyone other than themselves.

I have found the best place to get to know someone is through the forums. You learn real quick about who perks your interest and those that you know you are better off staying away from.

Good luck on your search. flowerforyou

Most of what is posted above is accurate, but I just wanted to make sure that it was noted that we do not have computers make one person express interest in another person over Mutual Match. By this, I mean that the software only puts the profiles in front of a Mingle2 user. It's up to the people where it goes from there...

The Mutual Matches that are made are the result of actions by the users, baggles. Our program only put the profiles before others, as noted above.

some members deactivate when they sign off to avoid an over abundance of mail when they sign back in

and maybe they were on when you hit yes or maybe but deactivated and signed off

maybe they will be on again maybe not

good luck with your endeavor
