Both actually. I have even found it to be a great source of emotional support from all of the wonderful people I have met here. Life is too short to not extend any kindness to our fellow man. People on here that I am friends with understand that concept.

I see this as the real "place for friends" -- apologies for borrowing the MySpace line, but Mingle is just a much better site, on so many levels.

But not a dating site, not for me, anyway. I have yet to see a realistic dating prospect here.

I've met a couple women through Mingle2 but it's more about being entertained by the forums.

Personally, i view this site as a meeting place, like an international pub, only online.

for me it's been more of a social site. but that is what i intended it to be. at one point i tried the dating thing on here,the person was really nice but he wasn't for me. That's not why I chose it to be a social site though. I needed to self improve myself at times and other times I may have been dating someone or had a boyfriend. I stayed for the great ideas some have to offer and for some entertainment at times too I must admit also for the friends i have made on here.

Make it be what you want it to be, and do your best to reach your goals for what you want out of it..

Social site, most of the folks are at a distance & few at this age want to even think about moving, let alone live together.

for me its more a social thing, i have met some really cool ppl on here, would like to find someone special, but for now i happy with just making friends, but i also noticed there is alot of drama on here too.

When I first joined, I thought it was just a dating site. Then I sort of switched over to using it as a social site.

its easier to look at it as a social site,that way if you dont get any dates it doesnt bother you half as much...
