That doesn't really work in this business Pol. It would be kinda like a car mechanic offering a list of satisfied customers. It's not as if anyone would invite you to have a look at their repaired refrigerator...

Although I think the meeting is just to kind of check me out to see if I know what the heck I'm doing. They don't have any work for me immediately but they want a go-to guy to call when they need appliance work done.

I need to finish filling out that dang W9 form too...

That's just a tax form. At the end of the year they give me a form 1099 detailing all the money they've paid me. Makes it a little easier for everyone to do their taxes. Essentially it's just a form telling them my business name and my tax ID #

Yeah it's nice having landlords and businesses like this lined up. Naturally they get a discount but it's regular business since they have numerous appliances. Some apartment complexes might have a couple hundred of everything.

And tenants naturally break stuff.

Yeah, apartments out here are usually high turn over and slobs.

It all depends on the neighborhood. Higher end apartments might have better tenants but then they also have more appliances.

The only problem with businesses like this is sometimes you gotta wait forever before they send you payment.

There's an apartment outfit I did work for last month that still hasn't paid me. Been waiting since the 19th for my $145.

Yeah, I have a 60 day payment maximum. After that I file for a commercial lean on the property. Usually works for me.

I send a reminder after 30 days with a warning about late fees.

Some of these places have to submit the bills to a higher office somewhere then the bill has to be approved by some manager then sent to the accounting department who will get around to it eventually.

I don't work for big outfits like that. Not enough people, and equipment. I stay with single homes and small jobs. I can't aford the equipment or the license.

I hear ya Pol - one of the reasons I switched to the appliance biz - no building permits needed and not much licensing hassle. Just fix the washing machine and go on my merry way.
