I'm a user. Anyone else on here use it? If so what's your experience? Right now I can't recieve or make calls. For the last two weeks I've only been able to make outgoing calls. They haven't been much help via email. And I can't call them since my phone won't let me dial out... kinda sucks right now.

I had Vonage before and canceled because I thought it would be a better idea to go to using just a cell phone... that wasn't my best choice. So I came back because I hadn't had any problems before and it was really good quality and very affordable. How much are the monthly charges for the ACN service?

I have had VOIP phone service through Charter, it sucked.
We had them out to fix something once a month at least for 5 months.
That doesn't include the manual resets of the modem I did myself, or the times we just waited it out to reset.
Yeah it was cheap, bundled with the internet/cable TV. but what good is it if it doesn't work?
When we had regular Ph. service we never had an outage or repair issue.
Now I just have the cell.
I do miss the better sound quality or a landline though.

JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!!!!!! Don't waste your time or your money, you'll regret it. You'll have more problems than not, you'll never get ahold of any customer service, and you will have a
b!tch of a time trying to uninstall it.

When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. DEFINITELY is, in this case!

You're going to have to find a way to call them. Otherwise, they're not going to confirm if it's their problem or not.

Their customer service is pretty horrible, though. I use them and have had a few problems. I was without home phone service for about three weeks once because it took forever for them to confirm it was a problem with their device and then even longer for them to send me a new one.

What problems did you have out of it when you did have it installed?

Echo-y sound
Sound quality sucked
Could not hear
Could not be heard
Worked when it wanted to
Susceptible to virus
No customer service
A fee to cancel service
Virtually impossible to uninstall
Etc.

About the only GOOD thing they did was make a nice smash mark on the blacktop when they got run over with the car.

That's good to know. I've sent 3 emails now, all with pretty much the same thing. I'm almost positive that it's the v-portal that's messed up. It won't fully power up and won't connect to the internet. I'll make the suggestion that they send me a new one or tell them they can cancel my account and had better not expect to charge me a fee since I've only had the service for a month.

Just be ready for them to not agree with that, since they were not able to help you over the phone. If they agree to that, though, you're lucky.

You're wrong. What "fee" are you talking about? You pay 20 bucks for a year, divide that by 365 to get how much it costs per day, it's probably less than taking a deep breath.

Never had any of those problems you listed, the sound quality didn't suck and it's not impossible to uninstall. Sounds like you either have a shaddy computer or crap internet connection.

Everything doesn't work the same for everyone. Vonage has terrible feedback, yet some people I know have never, ever had any problems like I have. Perhaps they're just lucky? Maybe that's the same with magic jack.

As for the person you responded to, it sounded like he's actually used it as well and didn't have issues.
