Hell ya they do!! |

in college i lost 120 lbs, and I know first hand that people treat you completely differently.
Not even other girls but guys ask you to go to bars and hang out with their group of friends more. Girls do not spark conversations with overweight guys, its a silent world. Also in business if you are a fat slob you get treated poorly.. attractive people tend to become "teachers pet" as it will, even in business. |

It's absolutely true.
When I look good and know it (translate FEEL good about myself) I notice I get better treatment. It's not right for it to be that way, but it's true. Guess that means everyone should strive to look their best everyday to maximize the reality. Even if it's just self-confidence that people are responding to, feeling attractive is a part of the equation. |

I think that there may be a difference but I also think people whether attractive or not will survive on their own merits not their looks... Momma always said "learn a trade, use your brain b/c looks fade"...

I have a friend who is **** eyed and Ive known her since we were in elementary school. Everytime I go out with her in public I notice people tend to look away. When she orders something at restaurants the cashiers don't even look at her face

do you think that perhaps that is b/c they don't want her to think they're looking at her weird? Some people with physical problems are automatically on the defensive and jump down your throat for looking even if it's necessary to take their order, ring them up etc....

Do they recieve special treatment in general??? and are you one of them? Yes and it is a form of discrimination that is very unfair. Because attractive is defined by what people see in the media instead of a person judging personally what they find attractive. |

Attractive people pretty much get carte blanche out here in L.A., which goes especially for the lower twenty-something wannabe actresses and stuff.
And no- I don't qualify as being a card-carrying member of the "beautiful people" set. If I did, I wouldn't be here trying (and failing) to get a date. |

Some people with physical problems are automatically on the defensive and jump down your throat for looking even if it's necessary to take their order, ring them up etc.... It could be that.. but most not all of the people she encounters don't even say hello or u know.. When I go to pay something at a store 9/10 time the cashier will say hello or how are you today. And when she goes i noticed that 3/10 people will acknowlede her presence. |
