How to stay cool in Miami without having a expensive air conditioning bill?

If you are a European not accustomed to heat then perhaps I can help you from experience.

As the monthly bills of electricty keep rising (at least here in Miami) then we wonder why are we giving up a big portion of our income away on this.

Here I am sweating like a dog down here if I don't keep the a/c on all day. All day means 24 hours each and every day!


So I thought why not throw a ton of ice cubes in a bathtub and soak in the water for a whole day. Before you know it you look like a old prune ready to shrivel in and disappear.

Then I thought okay walk around naked and just fan myself believing it is the cold Alp Mountain air hitting me. Some thought that was as it didn't help much.

Now I bought gallons of ice cream and eat ice cream all day. I must say that I am cooler now, but I don't think in the long run it will be good for my figure. You will have to roll me over to get anywhere in one years time at this rate.

So the best suggestion is to only live here during the fall and winter months and live up north through the spring and summer.

yet if you can't afford this then ice cream will have to do for now. lol

I used to wear a thin sun dress I'd wet and put on until it dried, then repeated all day...

I also have done nothing and just allowed my body to acclimate to the weather.

I tried the thin sun dress part BUT could never find one my size
Played MANY hockey games in FLa, and just found that coming out of the rink after ?? never seemed to be as hot as going in ..
