Hmmm...esteem....?
External? Like a job, status, money , power...like prestige? Or self esteem? Those who I know in my world with great authentic self esteem, are incredibly content...balanced people. I cannot see how someone can have contentment, or 'happiness'...with low or poor self esteem. |

IDK....can it?
I don't think so |

I think they can...
If ya mean esteem like...My "esteemed" colleague 'Beau' is well known by his coworkers for all of the great work he has done here at Minge2.com. Just because 'Beau' has done a lot of work, and is well known for it. Doesn't make him happy....Correct? Or do I just need to go to bed and did I jump right over what you were saying? I probably did. Goodnight |

In my experience, no.
I'm much happier now that I've realized how drop-dead gorgeous I am. |

I see the parallels...in clients, and it is a great 'reference point' to guage where they are at...however, like Freud....we have grown up a bit since their time... and also our societal disorders are quite unique to this ever evolving rapid pace society.
Suppression is less, self help is way more....and the more people allow themselves to be labelled, the more their dis-orders can reek havoc on their perception of themselves. I still wanna know what comes after self actualisation... insanity? |
