since I live with a block of the firehouse, police station and the ambulance building.......sadly the sirens don't phase me anymore

depends what type of sirin your talking about. Cop's sirin I don't worry to much about, fire etc same thing.

Rarely hear sirens going off here. Small town, they do things differently here. When I first moved here it was in December, and the siren for what is normally a tornado warning in other cities kept going off. Turns out, here it is a call for the volunteer fire department....only if it is short siren, if it is one long, continuous siren, head to the basement.
