Every guy that I date it seems like within the first hour we are together they are telling me all of their deep dark secrets. What happened to them as a child, how it hurt when they broke up or divorced their exes, etc. Am I putting off some kind of vibe that they are picking up on? Do I look like a therapist? I have been told that I come across as very nurturing and compassionate. But crap. I am very guarded about my life and it really confuses me that these men would be telling this stuff to a date. No, this does not get them sex. I am not being a *****, but please, lets get to know each other a little bit better before you start revealing your skeletons. What gives?

I don't know why that happens. When you go on a date it is for the possibility of something in the future. The last thing you want to hear about is their baggage from the past.My ex-husband did that-he would whine about his ex-wife and how horrible she was to him.I gave him sympathy and then I found out too late that he was the horrible one.So watch out for that too.Sometimes they twist drama to make themselves look better than they really are- just so you feel sorry for them. Now I hear a sob story and I'm done.

Maybe you just haven't met the right guy. You seem to think every guy is this way so you lable him as that and there for maybe all you'll end up meeting is the same lable type of guy. No it doesn't make any sense but what does what you said " Every guy " is this way.
This is one thing I wish most people would stop saying. I mean it would be like me saying every mac and cheese I cook up turns out just right, well if I was to say this then I would know it was a lie. Not every mac and cheese turns out just the same each time. So why does every woman must say " every guy I dated or started to date tell's me everything from there pass " ?. When they know not every guy isn't like this ?. I'm sorry I just thought I say this. I feel you will never get over these types of feelings that every guy is the same etc etc, unless you start to change the way you think about that next guy you meet. Just a thought. |

Thank you for your thoughts and I understand where you are coming from. Okay, maybe not all of the guys do this, but at least 90% of them. Truthfully.

I have 'therapist' tattooed on my forehead....
However, it is like speed dating, I know within an hour who I REALLY need to get an AVO put on, who I could possibly see again, and who I need to charge $450 an hour for therapy... |

Trying to soften you up, get you to feel something for them, right away.
People giving to much info., make me leery. |

MOST men today do not know how to engage in the art of conversation,so they whine about their past on a first date they think women are interested in this type of conversation when in fact,it is a turn off they sound sad and pathetic be a man, don't whine be seeing you

OP this happens to me as well... I find it rather entertaining. But mostly just sad.
These are men who aren't ready to date. Or admit they need therapy. |
