The first time I REALLY listened to Hank Williams's singing - it was the song, "(I Heard That) Lonesome Whistle".
I was about four years old - and NOTHING ELSE has affected me so profoundly for so long. That voice reached a part of me that nothing else has come close to until I heard Bluegrass Music star Claire Lynch in person - and that was less than 2 years ago. It's hard to explain, but Hank Williams's voice has been the most comforting, reassuring thing I have ever known. |
