While Daniel Craig seems okay enough to ascend to the Bond throne, I'm not real sure I like the direction he's taken the character. I'm sure it's probably not all his fault, but rather the fault of writers. Ian Fleming's vision of Bond was never so dark and brooding, and there was always a healthy sprinkling of levity or humorous innuendo within the script. The character Craig is playing rarely, if ever, shows any of those characteristics. Even the films themselves are shorter in length. The new movies are alright, but they're certainly not classic Bond.

Can't we just borrow the time machine and send Sean Connery back to make, oh say, at least couple of dozen more ... shades

I liked Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, then I got all pumped for Quantum of Solace and I was extremely disappointed.

I think he has potential, and it wasn't his fault as much as the screenplay, editor, director, etc...

I'm sure the next one will be better. It can't get much worse.

I like how the character has changed a little. One can only take so many cheesy one liners before they start wearing thin. And Craig still has them...he's just more subtle about them.

I like Moore and Connery. I just love 007 films period.

 i really like Quantum Of Solace,it is a worthy follow up to Casino Royale...where as Casino Royale was cerebral,Quantum Of Solace is a well-made,fast-paced tale of revenge be seeing you

If I had to pick a personal favorite, I believe I would go with Brosnan.

They're OK for a bit of 'leave your brain at the door' entertainment but they tend to be too formulaic [sic] for my liking.

Bond is definitely the best franchise ever. i absolutely love them!

while this is true, i still think IMHO that Craig is the best Bond since Connery. the thing with how he's portraying Bond as dark and brooding is that he is playing Bond when he 1st becomes 007. he is still somewhat unsure of himself, and obviously has trust issues with women (as all of them either betray him, die on him, or both.)
when Connery was Bond, he had been 007 for a while, and had had moved passed his personality flaws and what not, making him the smarmy, pu$$y chasing, PPK toting spy that we all know and love.

i think, given time, Craig's character would be able to work passed those as well and become more like the 'Connery Bond'. of course, like i said before though, i do love how he portrays 007 in the last 2 movies (hell, Casino Royale is one of my all time favorite movies), he adds depth to the character, as well as showing a glimpse of what is going on in his head.

Ah, but THIS Time Machine is new and improved ~ and has age reversal programming ...

Conversely, we send Terence Young, the director, back to the 60's and have him film another couple of dozen w/ Sir Thomas Sean Connery, eh???
