Why does it matter? Are you just looking for something to complain about? Nothing is ever perfect and certainly you can't ever please everyone, the world isn't like that. And don't say, "Oh I was not complaining." If you had no problem with it, the topic would have never been brought up.
 in all honesty,i am not complaining as i stated,i just love irony and i thought it was a more thought-provoking topic than "what color shirt do you have on today?" be seeing you
uh huh

this is an adult website, yet i cannot post the full title of a short story who are we "protecting" from these words? i find it funny that on this site i can post if i would have oral sex with someone does that not offend? do you think "Our Great Society" is too PC? be seeing you

I think the bottom line is this.
When a person joins any website they have to agree to TOU. IF they don't or feel they can't abide by them then they need to continue to look for a site that meets their needs.

While we all may find ourselves at odds with the rules at one time or another, we as adults agreed with them.

Me personally I feel like Mingle2 is one of the most relaxed sites to be on with their rules. They dont' expect much from us, I don't have a problem following the rules.

consider what you'd have your pre-teen-child hear, read or be told.

Pre-teen children are not allowed here, so that's a non-issue.

It is not a non-issue. If it's on the web, anyone can see it. My point is not that. My point is that if you were to say those things, that have been said here, to your child or your mother, or if those things were said to your child or mother by someone else, you would either not say them or be upset they had been said.

I think Kojack said it best, "When you signed up for this site you agreed to follow them you have 2 options as I see it .... Follow them or go elsewhere." Call it irony or whatever word you choose to hide behind. It simply reads like a little girl whining when she doesn't get her way if you ask me Prisoner!

Call it what you will but more are in agreement with Kojack than not in agreement. The whining sound is coming from the people who don't want to follow the rules they signed up for.

Please show me some instances where anyone has ever fallen over dead of a heart attack from hearing, reading, or using certain allegedly "bad" words.

I'll wait.

I had a friend who was so picked on in school he planned to kill himself but dropped out of school instead. Words can hurt. We're not in Jr.High anymore. You can't see someone's pain because we're all sort of annonymous here and you can't understand where thye're coming from. You don't know how someone will react to you're being mean, you must've never been picked on.

It really doesn't matter. When you created an account, you agreed to the terms of the site. No one is forcing anyone to stay here, so if they don't like the terms, there are other websites to visit.

This site is actually pretty lenient when it comes to profanity. I'm guessing the whole second half of that movie title was completely filtered out, but you altered it.."prettied it up' and were allowed to do so. Many sites don't even allow that. The fact is, profanity is offensive to some folks so the filers and allowing you to alter your words is an attempt to meet folks halfway and appeal to the masses, not just a select few.

A bit melodramatic there Keith.
