baby snake in the hallway of my office, not sure what kind of snake he is right now he is just very small(about 6") with no real markings, and now I have him in a large clear plastic cup. I am thinking about letting him go in my garden at home. What do you think I should do with him?

You are a very brave woman. I would have probably had a panic attack or a full blown heart attack if I had been the one to find it.
I hate snakes....... |

The only good snake is a dead snake. They make wonderful belts, hat bands, wallets, etc. If u prefer that it live then I'd stick it's butt out in the woods where it belongs. Personally, I find a snake in my yard, it's deader than a door nail soon as I find my shovel.

They have their place in the world and they are beautiful creatures. But my fear kicks in and it's all about my survival. Where I'm from, the snakes you run across are poisonous. I ain't gonna take the time nor the risk to try and pick it up and move it somewhere else. A baby one can hurt or kill ya just as easily as a grown one. Even more so actually cause they have no control over how much venom they inject. So, only in my opinion do I say, if I come upon a snake in my yard, then it better kiss it's legless lil butt goodbye cause I'm gonna send it to snake heaven. |

verify, verify , verify.. as to what kind of snake it is first do a google search and make sure you want that snake later after it gets bigger in your garden.

I would think baby or no that finding out what kind of snake it is would be the way to go first. Ground rattlers are only 6 inches long or so full grown and are deadly. Caution before kindness~

Have it stick out of your front pocket and tell people
"No I'm not Happy to see you and yes theres a snake in my pocket" |

Caution before kindness~ i do know a little bit about snakes, most poisonous snakes have an arrowshaped head, this one has a smooth long head, and it not trying to strike me when i hold it, i am looking to make sure it is harmless before i take him home, but he is so cute and has taking a liking to the clear cup i have him in. he was probly scared this morning!!! |

All animals are part of nature and poisonous or not serve a purpose. Good for you on releasing it into nature.

I say keep it for a while, fatten him up, watch it grow, marvel at the miracle that is life.
Then turn it loose in the garden. |
