packing sucks!!!!

my boxes of books are insultingly heavy... i'm tired... and i have a week to go.

how was your last move???

did you hire someone to move ya? or didja do it yourself?

I'm moving in 5 days .. packing a 5 bedr/4 bath house (2300sqft) .. it's INSANE.

Now I know why I waited 8 years to do this. UGH

We will be moving for 3 days .. just cause there's so much - the kids have been a big help now that they are older but it's still incredibly time consuming.

Yeah... don't get me started on moving. I'm about to be moving into my 45th or is it 46th house (I'm losing track of it) in 36 years!

holy crap thats insane. i'm moving one lil one bedroom apt but its across a state and i'm all alone.. so i'm like WHYYYY!!!!!

I hate moving. I hired somebody the last time I moved. It just seemed like the logical thing to do considering I was a single mom, and did not drive to be able to rent a moving truck. All I had to do was pack and unpack. They came picked everything up and delivered it to my house. Even put the boxes in the proper room for me. Made it east to unpack. Took me three weeks to pack but only two days to unpack.

Wow whisper next time let me know i have a truck i can help ya out!

Moving is not much fun. I packed everything on my own, then bribed a few friends with pizza and beer to help me move it all.

thankfully all i had to pack were my clothes and my pictures of my daughter........only took two suitcases unnder the bus and an overnight bag on the bus.....was still a biotch to pack, tho

When I moved back to FL from KY, I used a moving service. Not only did they damage my furniture, they overcharged me, forgot the "free vacation special" they had advertised to lure me there, but also did not have a truck large enough to bring all of the stuff like they said they would. So I had to rent a u-haul, which broke down in Huntsville, AL.

If I had to do it all over again, I would do it myself.

I feel your pain too.. I have lived in 6 states,and 4 other countries, and have bounced around within those states. I've prolly moved about 30 times in the last 27 years, even though I've lived where I am now for the last 5 years.

I've still got a busted rear leaf-spring from helping my mom move to a new apartment last July. I knew she had a lot of stuff, but I had no idea she had THAT much stuff!

When I moved from Ia to Nv it took a month. I had to make 4 trips back and forth. and that was with a 36' trailer.

Then when my sister moved from Nv to Az. I helped her wwith my new trailer 42' She wanted to see the hover damn on the way. When we got there,we had to unload the trailer so they could search it. I will never move my sister again. Of coarse I won't let her forget that either.

While in AF, usually opted for the movin company but have moved myself also. Can be ar eal pain in the behind. I moved myself, my 2 yr old son, a st. bernard and 2 cats with the help of my younger brother the last time. I drove the Ryder towin my lil truck while he drove my camaro. Went from Port Huron, MI to Yazoo City, MS. It was an experience. I plan to move again someday. I figure in another year or so. I wanna find a nice lil southern town on the coast and plant some roots finally.

I have moved 5 times within the last 2 years,packed all my self,used my truck amd got my brother to help.
