After a month or more of email exchange, I suggest advancing to the phone. I don't have a landline; there is no risk in giving my cellie. If all they do is text me or they don't want to actually talk then I lose their number. I hate games. If after a few conversations, I want to meet. I don't want to perpetuate the possibility of them not being who they claim. A couple of times I've spoken with a guy or two for the first time, we hit it off, and we met that night! Those are fun! Those are faaaaaaaaaaar and feeeeeeeeeeeew between though. I'm careful about who I meet in person, and comparing the amount of internet contacts vs. the amount of actual dates? The ratio is really, really low .... like 999:5

Seriously though When I believe there can be something there. It could take a week or years. It all depends upon the person or persons.

I don't have a problem letting someone I am interested in having my number. WHY? because a voice, with tones and inflections, pauses, or just how they carry on a conversation can tell me a lot.. Yes it has backfired on me one time had a stalker years ago.. had to change the number. so that is no big deal.
