It's a MF - Massey Freg! Where's my prize? You'll probably have to go get it, if you're brave. He's a michigan boy! He ain't nothing but a cream puff! Never met any Michigan guys. Out of my realm of experience. |

Its not an old Harvester is it???
I don't have enough of a view of it to tell. The engine would be a dead give away. Only larger tractors would have had an inline 8 but most of them were inline 6's. Then again I can rule out RIO but I can't rule out an old Cornbinder! i would know a ford or chevy inline on sight and not by the color! |

Anybody have a working knowledge of older tractors? Heard the prize is interesting.

Anybody have a working knowledge of older tractors? Heard the prize is interesting. I can fix anything that has not blown up! I mean anything mechanical! The only tough part is finding parts unless I have to have them made at a machine shop which can be done... My personal favorite feature on the really old tractors is where the PTO is a leather belt that attaches to a flywheel on the side of the tractor driving the gearbox under the drivers backside. The oldest tractor I ever seen (and got to sit on was a huge beast with iron wheels and it was steam powered. It looked like an old style locomotive! It also was fully functional. It was built in the 1890's. It is something I would love to see at a monster truck event in a tow off! It was so big I bet it would drag one of those five or six engine modern day monster tractors backwards no problem. The main drive wheels were taller than I was. I just love vintage machinery of all kinds. |
