Look guys...this thing just keeps looping back to a fight with no real purpose....

(Elvira?...is that you???)

(that is an ex of mine who loved verbal fighting ..)

Does punctuation matter more than common courtesy?

If it does...continue to speak to everyone like they are stupid.

Not sure how that is supposed to help.

Does common courtesy matter more than puntuation?

my vote: yes
Hypocrite. Why not just stay silent if you do not like a topic or, for instance, actually exhibit the characteristics you demand in others?

No need to answer.

That's interesting, moof! The "official" language was English, right?

That's what the proposition was supposed to do (make English the "official language of the State of California), but (as I said) all the Latino ethnocentric groups banded together and protested siting a "violation of civil rights" or whatever their excuse was at the time. laugh

Aha, because that's truly the American way: The right to protest, the right to freedom of speech, the right to not be oppressed, even vicariously through someone else's freedom!

Not really; I see their perspective, but at the same time, English is practically--if not officially--standard in many places around the world. Even if you wish to maintain your own culture, a perfectly respectable wish, just for the sake of practicality, it is good to know English.

I hope I haven't offended any Mexicans or Latin Americans here... I was just sharing what my friend from Spain had to say about it... And so what if Mexicans don't speak Castilian Español... We don't speak Shakespearian English either!

The 1st generaion Persian Americans like myself, we email, I.M., and txt Farsi using the English alphabet and guess what? Our parents think that we are basterdizing Farsi, and call our version of it, Finglish! whenever we forget a word, we just throw in the English equivalent...

Yeeeeeeeeeet... *Fur puffs to size of dwarf star--in preparation for attack*

Can I just make a public statement? Yes, I can. So, I will:

I am not a racist.

If I have given anyone on here the impression that--because I have such a deep fondness (er, obsessive complex) for my own language, for English--that I think I am somehow superior to other races or cultures, please accept my sincere apologies. I really did not mean to genuinely offend anyone in that respect.

Spelling and grammar mistakes, sure. Racism, that would be taking things a bit too far. Sorry.

<<...and the poor misunderstood raccoon finds herself surrounded by the village idiot and the redneck posse...>>
