I hear you... it's why I breastfed my son. It's free. And I bought a breast pump, which paid for itself in a month. Ask all your friends to register for those formula coupons and ask your pediatrician if they have any.... you'd be surprised at how many they might have!

Insofar as regular food, I used a food processor to grind up the same foods we ate, just without the salt and spices. Freeze them in ice cube trays if you have anything left over. This has actually been shown to make kids less picky eaters as young kids. Good luck to you!
