I'm definitely a giver, but have no problem taking as long as there is either reciprocity or I know it's being given with sincerity and no motives.

I like the feeling giving provides. But if there is no reciprocity I will start to build resentment.

Same here. I've always been the one who had to take care of the other person, solve her problems, fix her issues, serve as psychologist and counselor and therapist and lifeguard and taxi and hostage intervention unit.

It would be nice to find someone who would give back, just a little bit....

You, too, have the "Florence Nightengale" syndrome.

There is a woman out there worthy of you and all you have to offer. I would pay money to meet this woman one day - to see the one that you would fall in love with. She will be a very special lady, indeed.

A giver. Now if I could just find a decent woman who could take it for hours at a time. I'd look like a rabid dog when I got done.

Don't Panic!

I've been told that I'm a "rescuer" -- which is true.

It's not something I set out to be -- at least, not consciously -- but it happened, I fell into the role somehow, was comfortable with it, and I was good at it.

About ten years ago, I met the person I was convinced was "the one." And that's been on-again off-again ever since. Off again at the moment. And I'm tired of the inconsistency, the "I need you" for a year followed by "I don't need you" for a year.

But it's hard for me to believe I could ever meet another person who could make that sort of impression on me....

Do you consider yourself a giver? or a taker? in relationships, in life ..

Which one rocks your world?

Ive always been a giver. I seem to be with takers most of the time. The few times that I have been on the receiving end of a giver.....I was almost shocked. It was nice.
