I'm so scared. My anxiety is getting the best of me. I don't want thunderstorms. I'm going to have to hide in the basement.

Not me....I love storms. They work on me as an aphrodisiac. The sizzle of the lightening and the crash and boom of thunder, high winds blowing across your skin, rain dousing your clothing.

Used to live in a two story townhouse with floor to ceiling windows, and it was great to open the curtains to watch the storms!

Let's see...I've lived in Central Texas, Kentucky and Kansas and hit the basement quite a few times. I survived each time but really bad Thunderstorms still scare me half to death even though I know how to keep my eye on the sky and evaluate the situation.

I love thunderstorms - it is tornados that scare me. I would rather endure a category 5 hurricane (with NO tornados) than go through a F1 tornado.
They are just creepy - the randome destruction they cause. Growing up in Kentucky, my dad told me about an aunt and uncle who were driving and got caught up in a tornado. It sucked her out of the car and they found her body several days later on the roof of a building in town. |

A gentle thunderstorm is peaceful to watch and listen to. Don't mind those at all.
However I really dislike severe weather and tornados. They scare the **** out of me! |

Now that I'll be moving into a place that has a storm cellar, I'm not so worried about thunderstorms while living here in SW Oklahoma. When not living in an area known for tornadoes, I don't have an issue with them.

No, but my two hunting dogs are.

Afraid of them? I'm looking forward to going out in them and calling a few Thunderbirds.
Don't Panic! |
