Did you know that in Korea, there are so many people with the last names Kim and Park, that the law actually requires them to do DNA testing before a couple can marry?

hmm second cousin? not for me.. But most states only require that your not first cousins.... and yeah I am sure there are the urban myths about brother and sisters marrying. yada yada.. but you can't base their appearences or intelligence on visual estimations by the community. Hear say always is rampant.. Don't judge a book by it's cover especially when it comes to the applacians and other areas.

if you had a second cousin who grew up in a different area from you and your families never had get togethers or the such, and you found this second cousin attractive, would you be willing to consider a relationship with them? or is the familial bond still to strong?

Has anyone ever stopped and actually thought about why it would be "gross" to date a family member? They're just people that you grew up with. If my mom was alyssa milano, i admit, i would not be ashamed of hitting it. I just think that hating your own family is an innate instict most of us have been born with which doesn't make too much sense.

If anything is wrong with dating a family memeber, it is the fact that recreation doesn't work correctly with DNA that is too closely similar to itself. It'll cause many strange health problems.

many people can not shed what they were taught to be right and wrong so that they may form their own conclusions.

When I lived in Florida, there was a Man and Wife, with their three Children, attending a Church near me... Both Parents had been adopted.

One Christmas, one of the Ladies of the congregation, who was big on doing "Family Trees", who thought it would be wonderful to find these folks' "Birth "Families"... Their Natural Parents.

Turns out, they were Brother and Sister! For real!

NOW Whaddya' do? What about the Children?

They had no way of knowing they were siblings, since they were raised in different towns.

The Church insisted they get a divorce (An Annulment would have the more proper term.) They just quietly moved away, somewhere else... Never knew what became of them.

In another case, there, a man had Fathered a Daughter, at about
15 years old... but never knew it. (The Mother had blamed it on someone else whom she married.)

Anyway, the Father and Daughter met, married and had Children. One of the children needed a blood-transfusion... That's how it was found that they were related...

NOW Whaddya' do? What about the Children?

They put both Father and Daughter in jail... Don't know what the outcome with that one was... I moved before the case was settled.

frustrated

My main point is: Both of these cases were HONEST MISTAKES... Neither Couple were "Druggies or Drunks"...

What are the odds that they would meet, fall in love, marry and have Children?

it just shows how close minded we really are. and for people to be thrown in jail, if they were truly innocent, what happened to the burden of proof?

WTF? If someone is looking for justification to do something, justify it for yourself, or you feel better if there are enough people who sing that the best thing in lovin' is a sister or a cousin?
