There is a bill heading to the state floor trying to legalize Marijuana but impose a $50 an Ounce tax on it. THAT IS JUST PLAIN Fn' GREEDY! That is one of the HIGHEST and most ridiculous taxes I have ever heard of! It is like the state thinks this is the answer to its financial troubles!

I am planning on emailing every representative in CA and telling them to go stick their tax up their a**! What next, tax gasoline by the Ounce?

The taxes on Tobacco are not even that high!

If this goes through it is time for a tea party in the modern day!

This greed and misrepresentation HAS TO END!

So what are some ways that a wrench can be thrown at this measure???

Taxing legalized Pot is one thing BUT $50 an ounce? That is just plain GREED! If this is not stopped get ready for more and more taxes on everything!

Remember this is not JUST about Pot! Bear in mind it is unconstitutional for the government to double tax and yet gasoline is and nobody has managed to call the state of CA and the Fed on this one!

I don't smoke the stuff and never have, however I wish they would legalize it so our law enforcement could and would spend more of their time focusing on the "real" criminals in this world.

Not that my opinion counts cuz I don't smoke it..Just my thoughts

and so you know, they just raised the taxes on tobacco for an insurance program in TX. (if the money really does go there, and we will find out soon) then I am all for it

Quit smoking it!

Chill out(have a doob). If taxing it makes it too expensive, you will beable to get it on the blackmarket as you do now.

But then if it is legal, you can grow it yourself. Which is relatively free.

I think the bill says "Up to 10 plants can be grown for personal use".

It is a Catch 22 dude. If you get popped with +weight and don't have a tax stamp....that is income tax evasion...that's federal and your assets can be siezed.

If you actually go to the courthouse to apply for the tax stamp. Your home will be immediately searched....as well as yourself and your vehicle......(I guarantee you will have the dogs at your car before you leave the parkinglot)

Between taxes and bail fees....I say keep it illegal....that way I can save up money for lawyers fees.

And there you have it folks! And CA is a property Seizure State! So how much more of our liberty and freedom are we supposed to give up and for who?

We are getting pinned between criminals and politicians!

Classically Pot Smokers were never associated with violence like Cocaine and heroine and Meth users get! Pot smokers are treated like they are stupid and some of them are, the rest of us are not! Its easy to pick on the guy who is less likely to fight back. I do not want a government telling me how to live! I feel like everything I was taught in school about the USA is a lie now!

Boy that gives me that Spring Time Fresh feeling!

Oh but you have soo many realities to experience!

Like what? Affirmative action where I spent four years trying to get a job only to be told I couldn't because I was white? How about being denied state assistance because I was self employed? How about getting half the grant money I should have received while I was in college because of MY racial demographic? Oh, let me not forget having my ass handed to me repeatedly for minor infractions of the law while felons skate off with a slap to the back of their hand? How about the fact I live BELOW the poverty line and I work probably a lot harder than you do and I have very little to show for my efforts because the state keeps coming up with new ways to bleed me of more money like through vehicle registration which DOUBLED ON ME? Did you get your Bush stimulus 600 bucks? I sure in the hell didn't.


So what reality am I missing here? If I don't behave like a good little peasant I am going to get stuffed into a dungeon somewhere?


AS IF!

Let me remind you, Both Waco and Ruby Ridge were wholly illegal uses of military force against civilians! Both were government sponsored massacres but at least the folks in Waco handed the FBI their asses first! Ruby Ridge were slaughtered!

Probably not because as long as you got cable TV and money in the bank you are happy. AS long as you are comfortable you don't care do you?

Well I at least give a FU*K and dearly want to do something about it in a non violent way from within. There is a reason our founding fathers gave us the second amendment to protect ourselves from all enemies domestic and foreign! If you are not willing to fight to defend your freedom from the misrepresentation of our own government then do not be surprised to get caught on the wrong end of the fight if it does get that ugly!


I really would like to see Continental Congress II Happen!

I just saw a thing on tv yesterday about a man in Cali that has been sanctioned to sell medical pot....while being legal by the state...he was arrested by the feds. It is not federally legal. He faces a 100 years in jail and loses everything he has.


The differing states that allow it have differing amounts to have on hand. From 3 mature plants and four young ones and an ounce to 18 mature and a few young ones and no more than a pound and a half. Absolutely no one can give it away or sell it. If you are licensed to use it..then that is what it is for.

But, the United States Supreme court has not called it legal.
