Topic: Detachment....Attachment | |

i don't get attached. i haven't met anyone that can't be replaced. . . . How sad. Do you think others may have trouble attaching to you because of it?? Do you believe that maybe why you are single for so long?? people have their own reasons for attaching to me or not. i don't presume to know their reasons. as for being single, that's more to do with me than anyone else. it doesn't have anything to do with my being detached. . . . |

Huge difference between internet and real life...at least for me! I don't normally have men in real life saying..."You're SO pretty...I want to fly to Michigan to meet you right NOW!" LOL! In real life, there can be barriers, but the one on one interaction with a real live person is on completely different levels...intellectually, emotionally, physically. Those interactions can only go so far via the internet...... jmo

Hard to attach, hard to decide to detach; But once I decide on something, it's easy to follow through...if I want to or not.
Here? I'm not sure it's possible for me to get "attached" to someone that I really don't know. And I do not believe that you can "know" anyone here. Just what they believe and how they present in optimum circumstances. |

How easy is it for you to attach/detach to others?? Is there a difference for you via internet vs. in person?? What are the differences for you?? Unfortunately, sometimes too easy to detach for me. If someone hurts me, my emotion/caring towards them stops. Defense mechanism I guess. Plus, I can be interested one day and lose feelings the next. I don't get attached easy. I find people that do to be a turn-off. When you open up your heart to someone, you run the risk of being crushed emotionally, so someone must earn the right to be let in. Blindly caring is foolish. |

How easy is it for you to attach/detach to others?? I don't get attached anymore. After everything that's happened over the last six or seven months, it's become very clear to me that it's a mistake to get too close to anyone. They seek out an attachment to me when they need someone to solve their problems, but it's always totally one-sided. And I'm tired of it. Is there a difference for you via internet vs. in person?? What are the differences for you?? The difference is that I've never spent years and years bailing internet people out of one jam after another. So I guess I would say that the difference is in the level of demand being placed on me. The people I know on line haven't taken advantage of me the way people in real life have. I have no doubt that they would do so, were I to meet them in real life. Which is one of the main reasons I won't. |
