I have a very demanding job and I sometimes feel like I let my son down, though he would never tell me so. I missed his track meet three days ago becaue of work. I felt horrible about it but he didn't care. So to me it is tough, but he seems to understand. |

Balance...being present and available, when your kids require you. Being capable of keeping one's mind on the task at hand, at work... again fully present and available. I wonder how many truly have that.... |

i have been fortunate enough to have a great deal of flexibility in my work so i have been able to spend lots of time with my kids and enjoy it immensely. i was always precocious.
