Hello all.
Prncs is your dog a boxer? My grandparents raised boxers that had championship blood lines. And I've been contemplating getting a dog. Well my girls want one and I have to say I would like one to. but I'm indifferent on what kind I want. I had a Newfoundland and he was a great dog. how are boxers with kids? |

Hey TJ.. yes he is a boxer... He's pure as well AKC no mixing of family... Boxers are great with kids, very protective, sometimes over protective of anything smaller... They are considered to be one of the best breeds with kids... If the kid is sick they know it and will sit by their side... They are rambunctious though, they need to run and jump, they're very agile... Mine used to eat undergarments, socks, underwear, bras, he used to rip them apart.. LOL.. He also ate all the plants in my backyard 3x's... But that was before he was 2, now he only eats stuffed animals and balls... Great dog though, smart, knows when he's been bad even before you tell him he's in trouble... His worst habit is jumping up on people, boxers do love to do that and they really do box when you play with them... He loves to play rough but won't start it.. They're kinda ditzy too.. Oh and usually they think they're lap dogs and don't realize how big they really are.. LOL.. Whew can you tell I love my puppy....

I used to have a lot of fun with a boxer a friend of my dad's owned when I was a kid. It's name was "Buck" and was a pretty cool dog. Dunno if he was AKC certified, though.
I'd STILL prefer my black cat, though. Now THAT was cat.

I've come acros a couple of them on my mail routes but that is kinda in the ghetto and they arent takencare of very well. and it seems they want to attack me.  we used to tell him (joking of course) to sic balls and he would place his mouth there and hold someone like that.. I'd laugh till I cried.. Boxers are VERY territorial so I'm not surprised.. He has phases where I have to have him outside, let people in and then let him back in once they're seated b/c if they just walk in the door he's not really happy... |
