River of life,
You don’t speak words. You sing in a way That’s so rarely learned. Miss Mississippi, They put you in song. I don’t know the lyrics, So I just hummmm a-----long. Portrayed as an old man, You’re life’s metaphor Like the rocks on your bed Water pounded and worn. We may build dams and We may erect dykes, but The force of your nature Will strike like pikes. Teach me river To ride life’s currents, Twisting, turning, Cresting and churning along. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh9WayN7R-s Ol' Man River from Showboat |

As someone who has the privilege of living in a place with many smaller water ways and mountain streams this piece touches a place in the heart. I spend countless hours out back each spring, sitting next to the stream in my back yard. I find nothing relaxes me more.
I so enjoy your work. ![]() ![]() |
