I called the police earlier to attend to a bag flapping in the wind incident.

It did look like a person though at first though. It was dark and the cctv camera isnt of all that great quality.

I often call the police as part of my job, this isnt the first time i have wasted their time(And wont be the last). Anyone else ever called the police over something stupid?

I reported ex-neighbors in the 80s, the jerk was a drunk and beating on his pregnant wife. The other neighbors too were drug addicts and he would beat her and she would go flying through the air across the house.

About 2 years ago, another domestic violence incident in the cabins on the corner by me, thought the guy was beating up the pregnant girl, turned out she was beating on him - go figure.

I wouldn't call it wasting police time either. Thanks.

I did hear a radio station talking about people wasting 911 calls though, some of the ones they played were ridiculous.

One woman, I think she was in England, was charged for wasting their time (don't remember the exact charge) but she had called 911 over 100 times because she was trying to meet a man - couldn't meet a man any other way so started calling 911 to try to meet a man that way.

Other calls included people asking what time it was, what day it was, etc. They were just plain foolish calls.

If she was in England she should have been calling 999. Maybe she wanted an american cop though, she might like the accent! lol

I often have to call the police out when i know there is no need for them to attend, sometimes its just part of the procedures i have to follow.
