ORLANDO, Fla. - Federal Communications Commission officials and deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's gang unit busted a pirate radio station they say was reportedly broadcasting information on where to buy drugs.

Authorities say the "Street Heat" broadcast included live advertisements for criminal gangs and discussions of where to buy drugs and find prostitutes.

Balthazard Senat and Christopher Robert Roth were arrested Friday and charged with unauthorized transmission and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Officials say Roth was a DJ for the radio station.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office and a person answering the phone at the Orange County Corrections Department had no information on whether the men had retained attorneys.

Someone did post a comment where this story appeared asking why police officials didn't let them continue to broadcast and use the information for additional arrests.

Good point!

Busting two ham radio operators for giving out information on something that is pretty much known?

How ludicrous. I wonder how many taxpayers had to pay for the man hours of the police, sheriff's jailers and public defenders. For what? To know what neighborhoods to get pulled over in or score a piece of @ss?

Oh Please!

I guarantee that each and every one of us can drive through certain parts of town and know damned well that you could score there if you so choose. It is the exact same areas that the police patrol.

That is a clear violation of thier right to free speech. The most they can possibly be charged for is a misdemeanor for the broadcast...I would bet my paycheck that any lawyer worth his wieght can get the pot charges reduced to probation with deffered adjudication.
