I smoke and drink. Does this mean my soul is damned, and I will burn for eternity in hell? I have never been in a fight, and have never harmed another human or animal. I HAVE however swatted a few insects. Should I be worried? Not smart healthwise sometimes are we. but one does not punish the cup for containing poison... One either drinks it or pours out the poison and washes the vessel... either way the cup is not a temple... It is a container... Which is more important the cup itself of that which it holds. without the cup one could not gather the essence... With out the essense there would be no need of the cup. |

I don't know much about religion, but....arent Catholicism and Christianity (very similar)...and don't they promote drinking wine (being the blood of Christ) promote drinking??? Didnt the bible state that Jesus turned WATER into wine? Why would Jesus do that????? Why not just let them drink water???  I don't get it. Yes, you're right. You don't get it. No. I really don't. Please explain it to me. they didn't drink wine in those days to party (ok...some did lol) the water wasn't pure enough to drink. they didn't have filters then lol make sense? |

Hahaha. I was just trying to lighten the mood a little in this forum. Too much seriousness and arguing. Glad to see it's working.
 And thanks for the invites guys, but I'm happy with being non-religious (spiritual). The God I believe in will take care of my soul, no matter what I do with my body.

You seem to be searching for some answers and I would like to help if I may...the drinking and smoking,in and of themselves, will not necessarily take you to hell---but nor will your good works get you into heaven. None of us know the day time or hour of our deaths...but we can be sure of where we will spend eternity. We have all sinned and fall short...so we need a "get out of jail free" card--if you will--since we can not in anyway satisfy the penalty for sin. God sent his son Jesus to pay the penalty so you, I, or anyone else does NOT have to. Sin is like a fine and someone has to pay--you do, if you chose to reject Jesus free gift and spend all of eternity i n hell, or you accept that JESUS paid the penalty for your sin...so basically if you ask him to forgive you for your sins ( check out the 10 commandments if you are not sure which ones you have broken) and ask him to become Lord of your life--you do not have to worry about hell. Man, I hope this helps and I sincerely hope it does...God really changed my life and now I know where I will be when this life ends...please do not mess around with your eternal future. Jesus Christ said, " I am the way, the Truth and the Life and No one gets to the Father but by Me.." God puts it in our hearts to ask questions--just like you have,I think its great you are asking and wondering--IT IS COMING FROM GOD-YOUR CREATOR! I will pray for you... |
