The Spout Of Greater Things

Gazing through the scales of life
My vision not yet clear
I climb the ropes of faded hopes
Those dreams of yester-year

Desires stirred long since deferred
My heart now sick and stagnant
Enemy spies, religious lies
They draw me like a magnet

Opposing force, yet cling to source
The source of all things made
The source above, who's name is Love
Has shown me were I strayed

Now those scales where death prevails
By grace fall from my eyes
I climb the rope of greater hope
The hope sent from the skies

Up in the sky my dreams now fly
Forever taken wings
Once down and out, now drink the spout
The spout of greater things
