I try to reply to everyone, it is only right. Sorry you had a rough start. It will get better.

I almost always reply but you should understand that these people who found you delightful can turn on you in a heartbeat. I have replied with a polite "no thanks" only to receive an email calling me everything but a white woman.

When sending someone an initial "ice breaker" message, how hard is it for someone to just send a simple reply? I think it is rude not to reply. Even if you are not interested show some common courtesy and at least say thanks for the message. What happened to people's manners? Thanks for listening to my rant. Should try "Mutual Match"...those people are also "interested" in you... |

Maybe they aren't thankful to have received your email. In that case, why say thanks?

Its simple courtesy. No one is that busy that they cannot take 5 seconds to respond.

people get their feelings hurt when you turn them down
they just end up sending hateful responses if they haven't responded to you they've already decided you aren't their type. they are the type of person who won't take 5 seconds to respond why waste your effort trying to figure out what fuels their lack of motivation? just move on, they already have. |

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen one of these posts. Maybe once and for all someone can explain to me why it is common courtesy to respond to every message. Perhaps they don't like your face, or profile, or height, or nationality, or WHATEVER.
The question that someone should be asking you is why does this bother you so much? Almost all of us have faced indifference and rejection in life. Some people suck. Deal with it because you are not going to change it. |

nice try deleting your post donman, someone had already quoted you I always quote these types of posts...never know when a random attempted deletion will come along. Then where will all these poor forum visitors be? |

Its simple courtesy. No one is that busy that they cannot take 5 seconds to respond. I'm not saying it's right, but I'm thinking that some people don't know how to say no in a nice way, so it's easier to just avoid (ignore) it. JMO |
