I had 11 two year olds and toddlers today, because the two year old teacher called in.

Then my Boss comes to my room and tries to stick 6 more on me. They are not supposed to mix toddlers and two year olds to begin with. I am supposed to have a limit of 9 children for the age group I have. They wanted to give me 17.

I had to repent today and I'm ashamed of myself. I lost it!
"I told her there is no way in hell I am taking 6 more kids when I am already out of ratio." I would lose my sanity.

She brought them to my room and I told her if you leave them I quit. So she took them somewhere else.

NONE OF THE OTHER CLASSES WERE OUT OF RATIO. She could of split them up between the classes.....which she did when I went off.

I will not be taken advantage of....just wish I would of handled it better.
 Good for you. You did the right thing.

I worked in a church day care setting for four years and I got stuck with way over the limit of children that were to be assigned to my room. It was hectic and one day I just quit. Told the boss lady I wasn't doing her job anymore. It was her responsibility to call in help when classes got to full or for her to fill in and she never did. I up and left. Now work in a public school where there are 25-28 kids per classroom. However, they are older and sitting for the most part but still that is very difficult to reach each child, especially the ones that are struggling and need one on one.

 you did good...people need to stand up to their superiors and let them know how scrwed up the system is the bigger problem is that today teachers are nothing more than "glorified baby sitters" they do nothing more than "watch" the kids not teach them and in the end, that is where this country will fail be seeing you

You know this because you are a teacher yourself...we teach be there is such a lack of parental involvment that it is crazy and when the children hit middle school forget it. They think they own the world and won't listen to anyone.

not wrong at all. if the ratio is off....they need to bring in another adult or they could get in trouble
They don't care...it's a crooked Church.

Ain't they all. I've found that people will pack as much work on someone as they can get away with as long as it increases the profits. You have to stand up for yourself.

Just last Saturday I actually told some clients (1 pair) that I couldn't use their business. I seldom do that but they want one thing, then more, then more and if you keep giving, they'll keep taking.

11 two year olds...wow.
