wonder whatever happened to the art of conversation? And what's with these people who give you one or two word answers at best? Complete sentences have become a thing of the past! I wonder what happened too. It seems that noone likes to talk on the phone anymore. I have to contact my friends and family online. Forget talking on the phone. How about talking face to face? |

Part of it might be that people work such irregular hours that the general tradition of the normal times for conversation are sucked up. That and most people would rather sit engaged with the TV than a human being in the evenings. I also believe that many older people find the offensive language that has come into popular use is so distracting that they just rather not speak. |

Some one said regarding the internet and e-mails people would relearn the Art of Conversation. Unfortunately that has not happened. Possibly because we have not mastered the Art of Listening. |

And I HATE texting......lol I find texting exceedingly rude. It seems like an impatient child who does not have the good manners or maturity to wait their turn to speak. It is almost as offensive and intrusive as those cell phone users that can not unplug long enough to complete the simplest tasks. Employers that micro manage and enslave their employees this way seem to be failing to recruite or train leadership. |
