Got to see them after Jerry passed...pretty cool concert...but not good if you are inside a pavillion...love the followers but omg...sometimes nature is not a good thing....lol. My step son followed them on tour and came home with "dirt from 7 different states" on his feet...ugh!

lol, we were all outside with our hands in the air...
and then rushed the gates.
i still remember jumping that fence at deer creek

i got trampled..but i got up.....and got in...
Jerry died soon after

I do! What a mess...so glad I wasn't there that night, my step-kids were, but they were so high on "balloons" they didn't care! Oh...and they changed it...no longer Deercreek....now it is the Verizon Wireless Music Center...Deercreek is still cool though and I think everyone around here still calls it that

IDK how many got over those gates....but i so know that i ran faster than the dogs..and i made it in for free and got dosed as soon as i got in

Glad you got to see it, and happy you weren't hurt. I have been to tons of concerts there...but the last was Nickleback and Daughtry...got screwed on Daughtry...the first band didn't show up on time so Chris had to go out first...4 songs and the first band arrived...imagine that My daughter goes to see Dave for every show here...I have never gotten to go..somehow, she always has a friend to buy her ticket...and it nearly killed me to miss Aerosmith on their last tour here. I had to host a birthday party for my now...ex-father-in-law....maybe this year will be better and I can go to more. You should let me kniow if you guys show up this year and maybe I can arrange to meet you out there...that would be cool

i remember everyone walking around in the parking lot..with two fingers in the air.

SO many NEEDED tickets..
we were just there for the party ya know.

i was in the right crowd when the decided..
to run.
and in the first batch also.

we took the f off....
they even sent the damn DOGS after us.
security was going insane.

I got to the top...they broke the fence...
i remeber falling down and people just runnin over me..
getting up..
going in...



and allllllll was cool..lol

Me and my friend hopped on a greyhound bus in Omaha with nothing but our backpacks and a couple hundred bucks to see our first dead show in Portland Oregon.

Once we arrived in Eugene we had heard of Jerrys passing and the rest of the shows being cancelled. Man...what a bummer that was.

We ended up spending two months camping up in Cougar mountain outside of Eugene, and partied with a bunch of hippies and dead heads. We met some really great and interesting people and had the time of our lives.

So, there is a special place in my heart for The Grateful Dead, because when I hear them now it always reminds me of that summer that I will cherish forever.


Favorite songs:

Friend Of the Devil - we met a guy backpacking through the west coast who claimed to have "spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills" This was also my friend who I was traveling with favorite song...who passed away a few years after our trip. So, I always stir up strong emotions when I hear it.


I also like Ripple, Jack Straw, St Stephen, and Uncle Johns Band.

I saw the Dead when I was fifteen. I've never, in my life, been so insulted as an audience member. Garcia turned his back on the audience and basically jerked off with the guitar for fifteen minutes. The rhythm section was all over the place. They s*cked.
