It is funny that you should ask that...I decided to get my Bible out
last night and "really" read it...I read quite a bit in John...I am glad that I did...I learned a lot. I am beginning to see that in order to have close walk with God then you must know His word...which is found in the Bible and even if you go to church you should take the time to read it for yourself...Kaffey |

Well it depends on which Bible you are talking about hehe... I have like
10 different ones. The one I mainly use that I take to church with me on a regular basis and i use it to study with as well. :) The others do sit on teh shelf but I use them to study and get diff. perspective especaily when I am writing something that I am going to be teaching or preaching on HEHE! Have a blessed one all! God Bless chelle |

bright, i would say EXPECIALLY IF you go to church, we shouldent take
anothers word as fact without researching it out ourselves. |

I got to be the keeper of the family Bible, the one that has birthdates
and marriages and deaths in it. It's a King James Version, the first of many I have read. It's the only one I still have, because it's the only one that ever meant anything to me. Now, I just go to the internet and look up anything I might want to read. Of course, if my internet goes out, I guess it just collects dust. |
|
|
|
It's in the bookcase with all my other history, reference books..Animal
Husbandry, Organic Gardening, the Roman Empire, the Eliads, medieval Times, Wicca, the Bagavad gita, the Tao Teh Ching, reflections from The Dalai Lama...I think you get my point.. |

If my Torah is placed at the right of the Bible, is that offensive? If
the Torah has less dust than the Bible, is that a good sign, or a bad sign? Now, I have a real problem, where do I place the Koran - above? below? betwixt? <grin> |

Mike, it just depends on if you want to be Kosher or not?
|
|
|
|
****giggles @ Kosher**** I am pretty sure the placement of my copy is
not even close to Kosher. But then again, consider the source. But it is not dusty either. |

again we see the diversity of this group. Dust and moss may not gather
on a rolling stone and seems to me in these discussions, there is no Bible standing still, unless it is in the hands of a believer, who refuses to close it occasionally in lieu of other venues. |

I have read my bible, and continue to do so. I do not pick it up on a
regular day to day basis. But, I do read it and refer to it, and re read passages and learn new missed understanding. That is what is so good about reading it. Every time I do; I learn something new. Gain a new understanding if you will. My agenda? To gain knowledge and see the truths that are there. From what it says, to what is. Accuracy is the key; and it is accurate to the time. I used to fear the Bible. Now it is my expectation, of things to come. And it is happening before our very eyes. All we have to do is look. So, nope, my Bible has no dust on it. Many saved pages and ear marks. Kat |

Noooo... I am agnostic, and yet I use it all the time as a literature
reference! Don't worry people, it doesn't bite :-D |
