i just realized that with this post... who in their right mind would admit to being so codependent as to need others to enjoy life.

LOL i don't think anyone will say "no i'm not comfortable alone"

Well, I am not afraid to say it.
I am comfortable being alone as long as I am home and cleaning (that is a COD I have)not a COD that requires meds. I just love to clean
but as far as public, I don't go do things alone. I am trying to get there, but have no idea how to even start.

Any ideas?what

I've been alone for years. I'm pretty used to it. It is nice to have company from time to time, but I also enjoy my alone time.

No...I would not lose my mind if I was the last person on earth. I dont need people to keep me entertained. As long as their is still electricty so I can listen to music and watch movies. I might lose it when I drank the earth dry of booze though.happy

drinks  drinks

Human beings need others in their lives.
Not necessarily as spouse or partner.

There is a stark difference between being OK with yourself -- being alone -- and having people in your life.

A person can ensconce themselves with people all day long, but still appreciate their alone time without the validation of other people.

Being secure with your ‘person’ should be the first accomplishment a human being makes in their life. The dynamics and bonds they make with other people are only reflections of themselves, and not the definition.

Do it again & you'll be RE-tardy...biggrin

Hmmm...am I comfortable being alone? Yes...but then again...I'm easily amused...

Do we have to convince ourselves & others that we're perfectly OK with being alone? Well, maybe...

But the REAL question is: Are we comfortable with being lonely...OK! Bring on the lies! tongue2

I’m very comfortable being alone. I’d rather be alone then settle. Not to say I don’t have lonely moments mostly around holidays. I’ve been blessed with some wonderful friends that help get me through those moments.

try shopping alone. thats how i started. grocery shopping, clothes shopping, then i did the bookstore thing and found myself there for hours.

then.. i did the most scary. the movie thing. which was soo cool.

then dinner. :) i did dinner fast food style.. then worked my way up to expensive dinner. me and a book. or me and nothin. :)

trust me you can do it. you just have to take that first step out your front door.. without anyone to ask if you turned off the iron.

see thats exactly how i feel. sure... loneliness kinda pops up during holidays, or sometimes during moments i'd have liked to have shared with a boyfriend but its not a killer
