bagel. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Why is it so difficult to find even here in NY the birthplace of the bagel?
On a related but separate issue, why do people insist on calling all these weird fruity things with stuff like blueberries bagels? They are merely pastry disguising themselves in a bagel shape. |

This is how I make the bagels for me and my kid.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Cut the bagel in half but put it back together and place it on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 6-8 minutes (depending on how crunchy you want the outside to be) and that's it. The inside is soft, and the outside is crunchy, just the way I like it. Might be time consuming, but at least I get it the way I like it. |
