Anything funny and engaging.
I hate open ended stuff.....like him asking me to talk about myself. Either ask a question or tell me something, don't just expect me to dole out my life story. You can't go wrong IMO by saying something witty that requires a response. |

As long as the person sounds reasonable intelligent, they don't use ebonics or slang, and can engage me with eye contact, I look more at the secondary body language: are the looking around for Plan B; are they trying to be the center of attention, etc (turn offs).
A warm hello, and honest eye contact will hook me.
