Topic: Does anyone Read Books? | |
---|---|
almost missed this post. I have always been a heavy reader. Action, self improvement, medical, history, religion, humour, you name it I might read it. Should we start our own book club here in the threads? People just list books they have read, enjoyed & why? Amazon.co is a good place to get books cheap. We could even mail books to eachother. THOUGHTS???????? GREAT IDEA!! I read in spells. The last two books I read were Barbara Walters' "Memoir" and Eric Clapton's autobiography, titled "Clapton" (how novel). Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and highly recommend them as well. |

I kind of like that idea Sage. I actually made this post in the 50s area because its my feeling that well, we just have a little more time and interest in Reading.
By all means Pick up the Ball and Run with it. I can mail a few books out. No problem. |

It is already started, right here.
Pick a book, author, subject & write your opinion of it. Make a list of titles you would be willing to mail to someone else. Post office has box's that are flat rated. I mail books to my son, frequently, how we swap. |

Most recent read:
"Treasure of Khan" Clive & Dirk Cussler authors. 1 of a series involving "Dirk Pitt." Action filled, easy read, some geography, world politics & history. I have read a couple others of this series. I consider them light reading, to help ease my mind from the heavy stuff of life. Usually have his books read in 3-5 days. Like plausible action, little sex, very good guy always wins, you should enjoy this book. |

I like James Patterson and find it interesting that he teams up and writes with other people. Quite a few have been turned into movies.
Does anyone know if the movie "DEFIANCE" which was based on a true events, has a book connected to it? It is great story of survival against the German Army and Russian Army, both who had no sympathy for the Jewish people. I'd love to read it. |

Found this information on youtube Defiance Movie;Daniel Craig;Based on the Book "Defiance:The Bielski Partisans" by Nechama Tec I can't post the link because it contains violence and bad language. |

I love to read, also! Over the weekend, I finished "Plain Truth" by Jodi Picoult, and started "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. One of my Xmas gifts was a book about Civil War battlefields in Virginia, and I'm reading it before bed.
Sage, my husband loves reading Clive Cussler and has a ton of his books. I'll talk with him, and get a list together of what he has, -- maybe you guys could trade books. |

I read "DaVinci" and after a while, it seemed pretty predictable. Hopefully, "Angels and Demons" won't be the same way.

Kite Runner is excellent!!! Do not under any circumstances watch the movie/dvd, its terrible. The authors next book A Thousand Brillant Suns is also a great book. Both are horrible stories, beautifully told. jmho |
