Topic: Topic Titles ... an opinion. | |
---|---|
This is just my opinion, but I like topic titles to be informative as to what the thread is about rather than something like, "huh?" or a partial or half sentence like, "what if..." It may be successful in attracting the curious.. but I don't care for them myself. Oh well. I suppose its not important to most people, but when browsing topics I look for interesting subjects. If I had to click on every unknown I would be wasting a lot of time. This subject, for example is a boring one. So consider it a rant. |

It does not bother me. I understand that some people may not be that creative to trhink of a title to the topic. I know I'm not.

I'm the same way -- if the topic is "Can You....?" it's too indefinite for me to know if I'll be interested. I prefer specifics.

Let's not be forgetting the old standby:

Let's not be forgetting the old standby: "WHY??????" There are some givens -- anything that starts with "Why do all men...?" or "Why are all women...?" is, by definition, going to be an unsupportable blanket statement. The best thing to do with those is to ask the OP how long it took them to survey every man or woman in the world in order to reach whatever their conclusion is. They NEVER answer that one....! |

I've done that, and you're right. |

There is an art to thread-making...I try to use the double entendre'...or what I call the "hook"...
