Many times, I've sat and reflected on the past. How things have changed since I was a child. A lot of it makes me sad. Granted, there are many things today that are much more exciting than back then, but the innocence is lost. I know I can never go back to the warm summer day in 1972 when I laid out in my parents' camper reading a book, a transistor radio at my side. I know I can never go back to the days when I could be gone for the entire day, and there was no way to get ahold of me by phone. I know the days will never return where a parent could be a parent, and a child knew their place. I know both my sets of grandparents are never coming back, and I look at my own parents and wonder when they got old when I wasn't looking. To be completely frank, it scares the living hell out of me.

Memories flood my mind from time to time, knowing what was, and what now is. Maybe it's all in the perspective of knowing we're all getting older, and we can never go back again.

about the simple things in life?

can you give an example?

You mean like when there's a power failure? The silence can be deafening.

Well, I just came back from the Beach. I walked the boardwalk and the sun really felt good.
This is a simple thing in life that didn't cost anything today. That will change after Memorial Dayflowerforyou

I miss the sun, it is always so gray in the winter in Buffalo N.Y.
I miss the grass, we have had snow on the ground since November.

Oh boy, don't I know it too. But we are getting a thaw right now. Its a miserable tease.

In contrast to Mr Magic.... but you can go back to those days.. I do all the time.. Maybe I can't reverse the ageing process on my parents or family. But I can go back and relive those yaers of no cares. The problem I see is that we have become to dependent on new technology giving us a better life? Yeah right, give me the good old days. The simple things. Age has nothing to do with it. You have to chose thats all.

walking.

getting off our asses and just walking. enjoying the world outside of technology.

cooking for ourselves.

saying hello to strangers.

complimenting people outloud instead of just in your brain.
