The one where both parties smile at the end of the transaction...

Depends on what we're talking about.

Well...Give me a situation you think is fair by your standards

I think 1:1 is a pretty fair deal.

An equal trade.

Is it more of a material kind of trade?

Or Something Other then that?

I think in any kind of trade, equality is the best deal, most of the time.

I agree

But when it comes to things that are not material, does it become a bit more difficult to see what is a fair/equal trade?

Sometimes non-material is the easiest...especially for the giver. When I do a favor, for example, it's because it's not a problem for me but the other person is SO grateful and visa versa when I receive a favor.

This is a really hard question...so many variables!

Maybe when wanting more than you're willing to give it can become difficult to see what is fair.
