16 pounds of pot found across street from Portland school
11:48 AM PST on Friday, February 6, 2009 By TERESA BLACKMAN, kgw.com Staff PORTLAND -- Detectives said they found and seized 16 pounds of marijuana in a home located directly across the street from a Northeast Portland elementary school. Authorities served a search warrant at 7232 NE 12th Avenue, on Wednesday. They believe the home across from Woodlawn Elementary School was being used for trafficking illegal drugs. Along with the marijuana, they seized more than $2000 in cash. Blaine R. Boyd, 24, was also arrested for manufacture, distribution, and possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center in Portland. Three other people at the house were released without being charged. Sgt David Thompson, with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said detectives described the residence as a “flop house where many people are staying.” |

Should'a ALL went to jail...
I FULLY ENDORSE legitimate use of THC for Medicinal purposes, same as Ethanol, also called ethyl alcohol (Booze)! |
|
|
|
I fully endorse the recreational use of THC and also remind people of an old pot/drinking joke.
Whats the difference between a drunk driver and a stoned driver? A drunk driver will blow right through a stop sign where as a stoned driver will sit at a stop sign and wait for it to turn green. (*Please....no "Drinking and driving is not funny." messages/posts...Thanks) On topic....what does the proximity to the school have to do with anything? The location of a crime should not have any impact in the way it is handled or the severity of punishment. |

Didn't you get the memo?
Everyone who smokes pot is a drug crazed degenerate out to corrupt good decent Christian youth! Someone with pot living near a grade school?!? Has to be because he was planning to sell it to 4th graders hah I've been around the block and parked the car. I don't get high anymore. Mostly because I don't like the way smoke of any kind makes my mouth feel. At any rate... If this guy had a grow your own thing going on the poor s.o.b. won't have any to roll over on and likely will go to jail for some time. However if he really was a big player he'd have someone to throw the cops and would likely do zero time. The war on drugs is a colossal waste of resources and is not working. |
