Is your school's football program going to get those blue chippers and top prospects that it thinks it is??

What's your school and what do you think of this year's crop of incoming freshmen??

My School's Texas Tech and while it's not featuring some of the biggest names in the country, this year's recruiting class is looking awfully nice!

with names like Brandon Mahoney 6'2" 210# OLB, Jacob Karam 6' 197# QB, Eric Ward one of Texas' Top WR prospects, Pearlie Graves 6'3" 260# monster DT, This years recruiting class shows promise.

Look out, America! Texas Tech was no flash in the pan!!!

We have nine professionl sports franchises in this area. It's hard to get excited about high school recruits and college athletics in general. The exception is three weeks of the college basketball season.

However, kudos to "your" school.

Notre Dame Fan, here.

Looks like we got a pretty good group of guys this year, and it doesn't hurt to steal 2 from USC.

Yah, them Fighting Irish have a tendency to steal some guys from my USC Trojans. They stole Jimmie Clauson from us, too. How's that working for you guys by the way? rofl

We got that kid Barkley from Mater Dei high school. #1 High-school QB. Coach Carrol knows how to recruit, we always reload with superstars.

2nd down now

deep strike

got the big man!

Crabtree!!

Pulls free!!

and... Touchdown Red Raiders!!

with one second to go!!

you wake up in a cold sweat with that scene playing in your head over and over, don't you??

nah, I'm just messin' around. Texas had a great season.. and looks to have had a good recruiting class, as always..

Tech, though, made big strides in the recruiting class this year. Some real difference makers, it seems, on the d-line and in the secondary.. we'll see how they pan out.. Pearlie Graves looks to be a monster.

And check out a guy out of Columbus named LaAdrian Waddle.. dude is huge 6'7" 350+ with wheels, a real athlete..they grow 'em big out in the country

what I'm really pleased to see is that Leach & Co won a good number of battles against the likes of Michigan and Oklahoma.. I'm not sure if Tech and Texas were in serious competition over any of the same prospects.. none that I can think of but Texas always does well..

ND seems to be re-upping again and should look good in the coming years.. I just wonder how much more rope the fan base is going to give Weis..

No actually I don't, I didn't care so much that they lost as much as I knew the BCS was going to screw us over it, gets harder and harder each year to enjoy cfb actually, it's no longer a sport as it is a business, and I think that sucks. Yeah Texas got a lot of amazing guys, this season should be fun to watch with Colt and Shipley staying, plus their ground game should pick up a bit, a lot of people are saying the D might not be as good but I'm not convinced of that yet, we'll see how they look season opener, should be a good year again. I wish Leach would come over as our offensive coordinator, I can't stand Davis and some of his brainless calls.

Actually it's Rutgers, but I still don't care.

Well, while I'm sure most UT fans would consider a move from Head Coach at Tech to Offensive Coordinator at UT a step up, something tells me Leach might not share in that opinion.

But you are right that the sport is becoming less a sport and more a business. and it is sad to see but still there's nothing like a college football game, especially if you get to see it at the stadium..

I don't see how Tx could get much worse, truth be told, on defense, especially in the secondary.. Y'all were really green and got burned alot in the secondary.. It seems that's kind of been the achilles heal for a few years now. I know my dad b1tches about it all the time, wondering how they can be so weak in the secondary like they have been for the past couple years

I won't blame the offensive problems squarely on Clauson's shoulders. He did have something like 3 or 4 straight games of personal best's in the passing yards category. More Experience never hurts. It would be nice to see the Irish carry the momentum of the Bowl win into next season.

One thing I think we can both agree on, is it's a stupid move on your QB's part to go pro, and it will hurt him in the draft. . .

Actually most of cfb would call that an upgrade laugh bigsmile
So what I'm hearing is you think Texas has a terrible D just because a few passes slipped through the young un's in the secondary?
I'd beg to differ, if not for the D Texas probably would have dropped another 1-2 games, Colt's awesome and all but even he can't do it all by himself and without the D last year we would have lost to OU, possibly Ok St. and Missouri, they kept us in the game on several occasions so saying they can't get worse is nuts, they could be a lot worse. I've yet to see a terrible defense produce lombardi and thorpe winners, and we've had both over the last couple of years.

I don't think it's any secret that the weak link on defense was the secondary where there just wasn't much experience and there weren't many upperclassmen. I didn't really mean it as a knock, just an honest assesment.

We lost a bunch in the defensive secondary to graduation this year so that'll be something tech will have to work on in the offseason. The good news is they got a good crop of freshmen in on defense wth 15 of 25 signees on that side of the ball and am emphasis on the defensive backfield. Really it was a well rounded recruiting season for the defense with some real hosses on the D-line.
