When Bill Ayers founded the Weather Underground group in the 69 he was an American folk hero.
Most Americans his age were protesting Veitnam anyway they could. One reason was because they were being drafted to go die in a country most had never heard of before.
He is an exemplarary citizen. His record and accomplishments attest to that,

William Charles Ayers (born December 26, 1944) is an American elementary education theorist who was a 1960s anti-war activist. He is known for the radical and violent nature of his activism in the 1960s and 1970s as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he co-founded the violent radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s. He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar.

beggin your pardon but I had been made aware of and offended by the Wright/Ayers thing more than a year before the primaries even got started and near two years before anyone outside Alaska knew who Sarah Palin was.

yes yes, I know I misspelled anointed.

I didn't draw any attention to the fact that you misspelled it. But... you went out of your way to point out that you thought I did. Interesting.

yes, well despite that, I'm capable of forming and comprehending compound sentences. interesting.

I'm quite capable of comprehending them, when they are presented properly.

insignificant?

I'm done.. really, I'm done with this. there's no conversing with someone who can't see an issue with their president including in his primary influences Saul Alinsky, Karl Marx, Louis Farrakhan and William Ayers..

good night all..

At least Bill Ayers fought for what he believed was right.
GW Bush evaded Veitnam using his fathers influential connections and money.
He was and is a coward...

Good, I really didn't want to spend the night educating you. I like a well rounded man for president, that looks at all sides of things, and is interested in what was happening back then, but I know you wouldn't be capable of seeing that angle. Everything with folks like you is about association even when that association was innocent or educational. Typical of folks who only see one side of anything.

While underground, he and fellow member Bernardine Dohrn married, and the two remained fugitives together, changing identities, jobs and locations.

In 1973, the federal government requested the dismissal of the charges against the couple in the interest of national security following accusations of government misconduct, but state charges against Dohrn remained. Dohrn was still reluctant to turn herself in to authorities. "He was sweet and patient, as he always is, to let me come to my senses on my own", she later said of Ayers. She turned herself in to authorities in 1980. She was fined $1,500 and given three years probation.

Ayers was never convicted and never killed anyone.

Got that right... It amazes me coming from a crowd that is supposedly religious and supposed to be into the forgiveness of sin business, they sure don't practice what they preach. Bill Ayers spent years trying to make up for his mistakes but did anyone give him credit for that? No, they used him to smear Obama. Yet Bush can give orders to kill thousands and he's forgiven of everything he did in 8 years.. please!

Completely unrelated to Obama...Dylan memory.

I am a fan from childhood when my friends big sister down the road unfolded a hi-fi record player in the garage.

A lyric genius no doubt.

I was smitten.

One day in the early to mid 80's he came and played in East Lansing, MI. It was the only live music show I have almost...walked out on.

Brilliant...and...haha cheap...but there's the whole musicians take.

More random stuff.

Oh and it's amazing to me that anyone has to defend their qualifications as a good American before admitting the voted for a black (or half black depending on some posters) man.

Lastly....

Umm and isn't it a violation of forum rules to comment on the ability or lack of ability of fellow posters to write or spell?

Dare I say Raider you too have been influenced by Karl Marx?
