The number of Kentucky homes and businesses that have spent days without power continues to decrease.

Andrew Melnykovych, a spokesman for the Kentucky Public Service Commission, said Tuesday afternoon that, as of late Monday night, 218,000 customers were without power statewide. In addition to PSC's report, the Tennessee Valley Authority reports there are 61,000 without power in Western Kentucky, Melnykovych said.

Kentucky Utilities announced Tuesday morning that 62,000 customers — most of them west of I-65 — are without power statewide.
