I put up a new house in the spring, so I only smoke outside on my deck. Of course I'm in Tucson, so I don't have to shovel the deck off first.

Don't smoke inside my apartment. I did have an ashtray outside, but someone stole it.

I don't have any because I don't allow people to smoke in my house.

1 is too many and anything that can be used as an ashtray. I quit smoking (3 packs a day) to zero overnight.. and since then.. In my home no one is allowed to smoke inside or even on the deck.. why? because its my home! as for the deck? seems people like to throw butts out in the yard..So why should I put up with that? They should respect me and my wishes and my home simple enough If they don't then maybe I don't want them here or as my friends..

depending on the place...prior to children you could find an ashtray in every room
post children you keep one or two in the cupboard for company regardless of the inside outside rule I use a butt bucket, outside....nobody steals it cuz its worth maybe a dollar and its filled with butts but neighbors use it...its like a BBQ sometimes only without the food |
